I always feel nostalgic about anything regarding pop culture during my high school years. Long gone are the days getting home from school, and turning on MTV to see Carson Daly on TRL. I was always hoping to see if 'N Sync had beaten out Backstreet Boys for the #1 video of the day. I can totally hear "Drive Myself Crazy" playing in the background right now, and watching Justin Timberlake in all his curly cue frosted tip goodness in a straight jacket in the video.
I was so excited to hear that Justin was releasing new music for 2013. I've been a fan of his solo career since "Like I Love You" came out in 2002. So, I knew that he wouldn't disappoint. I purchased the 20/20 experience off iTunes the week it was released, and played it in the car on my iPod on the way to New York for my college best friend's wedding. I would say my favorite songs off the album are "Pusher Love Girl", "Mirrors", and "Don't Hold the Wall". It's definitely what I'd call a "classier" pop, and the whole album contains songs in the seven minute range. That's why I feel a lot of the singles will probably be condensed to the three to four minutes to be more radio friendly. All in all, definitely a great bunch of songs to listen to. I'm going to be seeing Justin and Jay-Z at Fenway Park in August, so it will be really interesting to see them both life for my first time!
